Quick verdict
The X50 Ultra is a premium robot vacuum built around difficult thresholds, low furniture and automated maintenance. Its retractable navigation sensor and ProLeap legs are distinctive, but shoppers should compare their actual transition geometry with Dreame's test qualifications.
Clearance and navigation
Dreame lists the robot at 89 mm high with the VersaLift sensor retracted. It uses dToF navigation plus RGB and structured-light obstacle avoidance. Low spaces may still have protrusions that scratch or trap the robot.
Threshold claim
The company states up to 42 mm for a single step and 60 mm for a defined two-step arrangement where the gap exceeds 40 mm. That does not describe a single 60 mm ledge. Surface traction and edge shape also affect crossing.

Cleaning hardware
Dreame advertises 20,000 Pa suction, a detangling dual-brush system and extendable mops and side brush. Headline suction does not independently establish pickup; brush contact, routing and floor type matter.
Dock and maintenance
The PowerDock automates emptying, mop washing, drying, solution dispensing and water refilling. Those functions reduce daily work while adding tanks, bags, wash surfaces and consumables that require scheduled maintenance.
Bottom line
Choose X50 Ultra when measured thresholds and low furniture justify its mechanical complexity. Homes without those obstacles may receive similar daily value from a simpler, less expensive docked robot.
