Quick verdict
The A1 Combo is a compelling entry into automated multi-color FDM printing, with a 256 mm cube build volume, full-auto calibration and AMS lite. Its open-frame design is best suited to PLA, PETG and similar materials rather than enclosure-dependent engineering polymers.
Printing platform
Bambu Lab lists a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume, 300 °C maximum hotend and 100 °C bed. The official compatibility table marks PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as ideal while not recommending several enclosure-sensitive materials.
AMS lite tradeoffs
The Combo includes AMS lite for multi-color or multi-spool workflows. Color changes can create purge waste and significantly extend print time. Flexible TPU workflows also require checking the current feeder guidance.

Automation and speed
Automatic calibration, flow compensation and monitoring reduce setup work. The listed 500 mm/s maximum toolhead speed is not a promise that every model or material should use it; flow rate, cooling and geometry remain limiting factors.
Connected workflow
The A1 supports cloud-connected control and LAN-only options. Buyers should decide how much remote access they want and keep firmware, slicer profiles and account security current.
Bottom line
Choose the A1 Combo for accessible multi-color PLA and PETG printing with strong automation. Choose an enclosed CoreXY machine when demanding high-temperature materials or containing drafts matters more than AMS lite convenience.
