Quick decision
Yarbo's up-to-70-percent or 35-degree slope claim makes the tracked Y40 Lawn Mower Pro worth investigating for steep properties, but the headline does not describe every bank. Surface moisture, sideways travel, holes, roots and safe turnaround space can be decisive.
Percent grade versus degrees
A 70 percent grade means 70 units of rise over 100 units of horizontal run and is approximately 35 degrees. It does not mean 70 degrees. Measure important sections rather than estimating them by eye.
Traction variables
Tracks can distribute weight and improve grip, but wet grass, loose soil, mud, leaves and sharp cross-slopes change stability. The manufacturer's maximum should be treated as a boundary under suitable conditions, not a normal target across the property.
Map hazardous areas
Identify water, retaining walls, public paths, drop-offs, children's play zones and narrow passages. Virtual boundaries must leave room to stop and turn. Physical barriers may still be appropriate around severe hazards.
Mowing quality on banks
Slope capability and cut quality are different questions. Grass height, wheel or track marks, approach direction and repeated routes affect the finish. Difficult banks may need a different schedule or manual trimming even when the robot can traverse them.
Bottom line
Shortlist Yarbo when measured slopes and large coverage justify its tracked platform, then ask the manufacturer about the property's steepest geometry. A smaller flat lawn should prioritize simpler installation and ownership cost over maximum grade claims.
Scenario shortlist
Order reflects this guide's use-case discussion, not a laboratory performance score.
